Help with my insomnia?
Insomnia i’m facing:
i’ve been showing insomnia-like symtoms for the last several months. i usually don’t get to sleep until after 3 in the morning, and i always have to wake up at around 7. what can i do to fix it? ive tried exercise and mental stimulation, but nothing seems to help. i want to fix this problem without the use of medication.

You need to apply regular sleep time. Scientist said that this method is 50% more effective to cure insomnia than other method.

here are some tips how to apply regular sleep time:

I used to be a SEVERE insomniac, to the point where it was threatening my health (spent a while in a hospital for it and everything).

After months of searching for an answer, I posted on an insomniac forum about my problem, and they suggested this:

This was the only thing that helped with my insomnia, I highly recommend you try it before it becomes so severe that you end up in the same situation I was in. Not Fun!!!

Social Anxiety/Depression/Insomnia.. I’m on novo-trazadone but i was wondering…?

Social Anxiety/Depression/Insomnia.. I’m on novo-trazadone but i was wondering…?
Insomnia i’m facing:
If i’d benefit more from something like Xanax.

i don’t feel that novo-trazadone is helping my anxiety at all, and it’s rarely helping the depressing and insomnia.

I’m only 15, so if you could reccomend something that might help, please do.

Stay away from Xanax its very addictive.

Medication by itself won’t fix your anxiety.

You need some psychological treatment like CBT. There is excellent evidence that this helps

friend cannon20072 said:
you should discuss this with which ever doctor writes your prescriptions鈾?

friend AJR3 said:
First of all, who put you on it and why are they not following up with you.

You should do the following.

See a counselor first

Get a referral to a psych doctor

Make sure you have communication with the doctor

If the medication does not suit you ask it to be changed.

I do not recommend xanax, but you can ask your doctor (psych)

Trazadone is more for sleeping than an anti depressant, although it is under the classification as an anti depressant medication, kind of an older type, so you may want to be on an anti depressant like Lexapro (anti depressant) and Klonopin(anti anxiety) or Lexapro and Ambien or Lunesta for sleep as the last two are for sleep.

This is a doctor patient issue. I can not, nor can anyone diagnose this on this site. Many vets coming back from war use trazodone to sleep at night for night terrors and stuff.

Get the help you need, do not be ashamed to ask, look at webmd and you will learn about what you are taking. Make sure you take exactly what the doctor told you until you talk to the doc again. Xanax is too addictive so that is why I said there is a better way.

Good Luck,

I remain,

Your assistant

Is insomnia linked to depression?

Is insomnia linked to depression?
Insomnia i’m facing:
Insomnia has many causes. There are people who actually need less sleep than the norm, but sleep is important for good mental and physical health since it is the time of the day that the body is restored.

As for depression, insomnia is one of the key symptoms. One might be able to fall asleep, but not stay asleep. Or one might not be able to get to sleep all night. If this just started recently think of what may be different now than a few weeks ago. Did you lose a loved one, move to another place, or are you under stress at school or work?

If you think about sleeping too much you will find that it is actually more difficult.

Some of the things to try is getting more exercise, eating properly and not too close to bed time, and taking warm or even hot showers.

DO NOT TAKE MEDICINES FOR SLEEP. They are not good without a physician’s knowledge. They actually disrupt the sleep pattern and become addictive to some people.

If the condition lasts longer than two weeks and becomes a problem in your functioning in life, see a family doctor and be frank about perhaps seeing a psychologist or psychiatrist.

It can be. When people are depressed their sleep habits get messed up. Some people will be up all night and sleep all day…or just plain sleep too much or not enough.

friend magoojess3 said:
Absolutely. I suffered from insomnia for YEARS…to a point of feeling suicidal. I never thought it was depression because I thought this would cause one to sleep too much. After a (separate) rather traumatic experience, I was put on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication. The insomnia went away.

Be patient with side effects of anti-depressants. I was never a fan of medications, but when the chemicals are off balance, life can be hell.

I hope all goes well for whomever the sufferer is.
