problems with insomnia can arise due to a lot of reasons, it can include depression, anxiety, colds, and by what you take in. your daily routine can also impair sleep. as much as possible stay way from caffeinated products and stimulants for they can disturb sleep. try to establish a relaxing before-sleep ritual, like taking a warm bath, having light snack or reading for 10 minutes, avoid problem solving when in bed, try to clear your mind, do some sleep ritual that can make you go to sleep. but if these natural sleep aid habits won’t work on you and insomnia persists, better see a physician. visit http://www.sleepsogood.com for more natural sleep aid tips to have a good night sleep.

i would say, try some of the herbal teas that are avaliable at oraganic stores. There are many different teas that you could try to help you fall asleep. Also, insomnia is sometimes something that needs additional aid because it’s an imbalancment in the brain. Talk to your doctor for sure if the teas dont help.

See sleepWAKING, and insomnia, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris in section 3. Exercise, earlier in the day/evening, so you are physically fatigued, and implement the treatments. It seems to be anxiety (worry) related. See anxiety treatments, at ezy-build on page 6. Set yourself a fixed limit for worrying about any particular subject, (say; 15 minutes) after which, resolve firmly to refuse to even consider that subject again on that day: realise and accept that to do otherwise would be counterproductive to your mental health, and enjoyment of life. Use the technique for reprogramming negative thoughts and internal monologue (self talk), on pages 2, and 2L, to help you in this, and consider carrying a wide rubber band in your pocket; stretch, and release, as a means of reinforcing it, and speeding up the process, re-pocketing it afterwards. Practise one of the relaxation methods on page 2, in bed, after lights out. Also, give the EFT a good tryout, to see if it helps you. A direct link to it is on page 3c, where starred * and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o also refer. Either of the above is suitable for use in bed: use whichever works best for you, after trying them during the daylight hours.

Why not take tablets? it might be the only way of helping you. Try benadryl just once and see if it helps, it has always helped me get to sleep even at the worse times.

Yes, the inability to fall asleep, and then waking earlier than you should are both signs of insomnia.

I have had it for more than 20 years. There are several different types, and for most people, short-term treatment with an insomnia medication can be of great help. Talk to your doctor about it. I understand that you don’t want to take medication, but when your sleep cycle is completely messed up, that is sometimes the only way to get it regulated. Also, there are medications available now which are not habit forming, and can safely be taken for brief periods of time.

Explore your options, because one of the problems with insomnia is that you begin to build up a tremendous sleep debt, and that can really mess you up. It can lead to other problems, and also make your isomnia so bad it’s a lot harder to take care of.

Most doctors will start with working on what is called sleep hygiene, and those techniques work fairly well for many people. Responsible docs don’t go right to the drugs. So talk to your doc and see if he or she can help you out.

Best of luck.

Well according to a website people with insomnia have difficulty falling asleep, which may be caused by stress. So if you’ve been stressed lately you might.

It also says depression can also be a cause. Some daytime symptoms of insomnia are:

-Poor focus

-Bad memory

-irritability

You could try Chrono-therapy.

Here’s how it works.

Sleep from 3 am to 10 am for four nights.

Now start a progression of 3 hour delays in your bedtime:

Day 1: Go to bed at 6 am

Day 2: 9am

Day 3: Noon

Day 4: 3pm

Day 5: 6pm

Day 6: 9pm

Now, maintain a strict 9m bedtime. I actually have an alarm clock with two alarms. One for wakeup and the other for bedtime. Bedtime is the same time every night with no exceptions (been dealing with this problem a long time).

friend The mom3 said:
you may only need 4 hours of sleep. some people don’t need as much (i need 8-9)

i believe insomnia is a lack of sleep that interferes with daily life. if you feel tired during the day, unable to focus, etc than you might have insomnia and want to try a sleep clinic or something.

Anyone else have insomnia?

Anyone else have insomnia?
Insomnia i’m facing:
I have had chronic insomnia for quite a while now. it now 4:30am, I’ve have no sleep at all tonight. It is like this almost every night for me, how do you other insomniacs deal with this issue?

friend BundyGil1 said:
I was like this when I had so much on my mind. It sounds weird but I wrote all my problems down on a piece of paper and placed them in a box, and pretended that was the end of them. Just so I can sleep peacefully.

I would also put on a movie that really involved some attention. If that doesn’t work turn the television off. Drink some tea. Celeste has a flavor called tension tamer. If your room needs to be straightened up, straighten it up and light some aroma therapy candles. Redecorate your room. Also try to include something containing berries in it in your diet each day, rather it be juice, yogurt, ice cream, anything with natural berries mixed in it. Try that everyday for and after at least three weeks you should feel a little more relaxed at night. You can also put on a work out video every morning and done some cardio for about 20 minutes before you start your day. I have tons of tips. If you need more let me know :-)
